Learning to drive in manual transmission cars versus automatic cars

A manual transmission vehicle is slightly harder to learn to drive in than an automatic car. Unlike an automatic car, a manual vehicle requires the driver to use the clutch pedal and constantly change gear as they change speed.

Don’t worry; Signature is geared up to help you! We have a local fleet of manual petrol and diesel cars at your disposal. We even provide you with your own personal trainer.

While learning in a manual car is more complicated, most people prefer to because you can drive both manual and automatic vehicles in the future once you have passed your driving test in a manual car.

People who take and pass their test in an automatic car can only drive automatic vehicles.

Driving without an experienced instructor in a car without dual control

If you start learning with family and friends, while it may be cheaper, you will probably pick up some bad habits that will not help you in the long run.

Signature School of Motoring always recommends learning to drive with qualified and experienced driving instructors, so you know how to drive safely and attain the right skills and knowledge.

Knowing that our cars all come with dual control means we can get you out of any problematic situations if and when they arise. We are your guardians of the road.
